Credit basics

How long does it take to fix my credit?+

There is no honest single answer, because it depends entirely on what is on your file and why. Inaccurate items that a bureau cannot verify are generally resolved within a 30-day investigation window, while rebuilding thin or damaged history is measured in months of consistent, on-time behaviour. Anyone who gives you a guaranteed timeline before seeing your report is selling you something.

Can I dispute things on my credit report myself for free?+

Yes, and you should know that. The Fair Credit Reporting Act gives you the right to dispute anything on your report directly with each bureau at no cost, and you can pull all three reports free at annualcreditreport.com. People work with a professional for the same reason they use an accountant for a return they could file themselves: knowing which items to challenge, in what order, and what to do when a dispute comes back verified.

What actually moves a credit score the fastest?+

For most people it is credit utilization, because unlike payment history or account age it can change within a single billing cycle. Bringing balances down before the statement closes often shows up on the next report. Removing inaccurate negative items matters too, but utilization is the lever most people already have in their hands.

Why is my score different on every app I check?+

Because there are dozens of scoring models and three separate bureaus that do not share data. The score in a free app is often a VantageScore, while most lenders pull a specific version of FICO, and auto and mortgage lenders use different versions again. The free number is useful for tracking direction, not for predicting a lender's decision.

Does checking my own credit hurt my score?+

No. Checking your own report is a soft inquiry and has no effect on your score, no matter how often you do it. Only a hard inquiry, where a lender pulls your file because you applied for something, costs points. You should be checking regularly.

Will closing an old credit card help my score?+

Usually the opposite. Closing a card removes its limit from your utilization calculation, which can push your ratio up overnight, and eventually it stops contributing to your average account age. If a card has no annual fee, the usual advice is to keep it open and use it lightly rather than close it.

How long do negative items stay on my report?+

Most negative information stays seven years from the date of first delinquency, including late payments, collections, charge-offs and repossessions. Chapter 7 bankruptcy stays ten years. Hard inquiries are visible for two years but generally only affect scoring for one.

Does paying off a collection remove it from my report?+

Not automatically. Paying a collection usually updates the entry to show a zero balance but leaves the entry itself in place for the rest of its seven years. Some newer scoring models ignore paid collections, but many lenders still see them, which is why any pay-for-delete arrangement should be agreed in writing before money moves.

Working with Lynden

What does Lynden actually do?+

Four things. He works with people on credit restoration, he connects business owners with credit-based and revenue-based funding, he mentors people who want to understand financial systems properly, and he speaks to audiences and institutions. The thread running through all of it is the same: access follows understanding.

What does it cost to work with you?+

Becoming a Personal Credit Client is $189 enrollment plus $99 per month, or $497 on the semiannual plan. Credit monitoring, which is required for anyone whose credit needs repair, restoration or rebuilding, is $1 for the first 7 days and then $29.97 per month. The Broker Bundle is $1,097 annually, or $289 enrollment plus $99 per month. The first conversation is free either way.

What am I actually paying for each month?+

The monthly fee covers the ongoing work on your file: reviewing what each bureau returns, deciding what to challenge next, preparing the next round of disputes, and tracking what moves. Credit restoration is not a single action, it is a sequence of them across three bureaus that respond on their own timelines. The separate monitoring fee is what lets both of you see the file change in close to real time.

Do I have to pay to mail the dispute letters?+

No, and mailing them yourself is highly recommended. It costs you postage and it keeps you close to your own process. If you would rather not handle it, the company's mailing service runs approximately $9 for all three bureaus.

Can you guarantee my score will go up?+

No, and anyone who does is breaking federal law. Credit outcomes depend on your individual file, your history, and decisions made by creditors and bureaus that nobody can control. What can be promised is a clear read of your situation, a real plan, and honest answers about what is and is not likely.

Do you work with people outside your area?+

Yes. Credit and funding work is handled remotely across the United States, and speaking engagements are booked nationally and internationally. Location has never been the constraint; readiness is.

What happens on the first call?+

Lynden asks what brought you here, looks at where you actually are rather than where you hoped to be, and tells you plainly what he thinks the right next step is. Sometimes that step is working together and sometimes it is something you can do yourself. You will leave the call knowing more than you came in with either way.

Business funding

How much business funding can I get?+

It depends entirely on which route fits you. Credit-based funding runs up to $250,000 and is driven by the strength of your credit profile. Revenue-based funding can reach seven figures and is driven by your business bank deposits. The Funding Fit tool on this site will tell you which conversation you should be having.

What do I need to qualify for credit-based funding?+

Three things: a minimum 680 FICO score, an established business entity such as an LLC or corporation, and an EIN. No revenue is required, because the approval is based on creditworthiness rather than cash flow. This is the route for people whose credit is strong but whose business is young.

What do I need to qualify for revenue-based funding?+

Business bank statements showing consistent monthly deposits for the most recent three months. The amount is determined by your revenue and cash flow rather than your credit score. This is the route for owners with real revenue and a credit file still being rebuilt.

Can I get funding with bad credit?+

Possibly, through revenue-based funding, because that route underwrites your deposits rather than your score. What you cannot do is access the best terms with a damaged file, which is why credit work and funding work so often happen in that order. Fixing the file first usually costs less than borrowing expensively now.

How fast can funding come through?+

Credit-based funding can move in a matter of days once your profile and entity are in order. Revenue-based funding depends on how quickly your bank statements can be reviewed. The slow part is almost never the lender; it is usually the documents on your side.

Do I need an LLC to get business funding?+

For credit-based funding, yes, you need an established entity and an EIN. Some revenue-based products will work with a sole proprietorship that has a business bank account, but your options narrow considerably. Forming an entity is inexpensive and opens more doors than almost anything else you can do in a week.

What is the difference between a factor rate and an APR?+

A factor rate multiplies your advance by a figure like 1.3 to arrive at what you owe, while an APR expresses the annual cost including fees. A factor rate looks cheaper because it ignores how fast you have to repay. Always convert a factor rate to an APR before you compare two offers.

Will applying for funding hurt my credit?+

A formal application creates a hard inquiry, which typically costs a handful of points and matters for about a year. Pre-qualification is usually a soft pull and costs nothing. The bigger risk is applying scattershot to many lenders at once, which stacks inquiries and signals distress.

Mentorship

Who is the mentorship for?+

People ready to think differently, act intentionally and take responsibility for their financial and personal growth. It suits those seeking real mastery of credit and financial systems, and leaders and entrepreneurs ready to elevate how they are positioned. It asks for honesty, commitment and a willingness to be challenged.

Who is it not for?+

Anyone looking for shortcuts or overnight results, anyone unwilling to apply what they learn, and anyone who wants motivation without execution. That is said plainly because the wrong fit wastes everyone's time. Applications are reviewed for alignment, not just interest.

Is this a course?+

No. A course is content you consume. This is applied education with accountability, which means you are expected to act on what you learn and to be answerable for whether you did. Materials are part of it, but they are not the point of it.

Why is enrollment by application?+

Because mentorship only works when both people are aligned, and an application is how that gets established before anyone commits. Submitting one is a declaration of intent rather than a formality. Lynden reads them.

What will I actually walk away with?+

A clear understanding of how credit and financial systems genuinely work, disciplined frameworks for responsible access and positioning, and a recalibrated way of thinking about money that is rooted in purpose and stewardship. The financial outcomes follow from that, not the other way round. Clarity creates confidence, discipline creates access, education creates freedom.

Speaking

What does Lynden speak about?+

Financial literacy and credit mastery, disruptive thinking and system navigation, purpose, discipline and leadership, and faith, stewardship and legacy building. His signature presentation is Disruptive Conversation, a framework he has taught to MBA students at Howard University. The delivery is clear, grounded, strategic and purpose-driven.

What kinds of events does he speak at?+

Keynotes, universities, corporations, faith-based organizations and leadership retreats. He has addressed academic, professional and community audiences, and has taught thousands globally. If you are not sure whether your event fits, ask.

How do I book Lynden to speak?+

Use the booking form on the speaking page or call (786) 505-0270 directly. Share your date, audience, format and what you want the audience to leave with. The more you can say about the outcome you are after, the better the fit assessment will be.

Is there a speaker kit I can share internally?+

Yes. The speaking page carries his topics, signature presentation, audience background and booking details in a form you can forward to a committee or a decision maker. If you need anything additional for an internal approval process, ask and it will be sent.

The 800 Club

What is The 800 Club?+

It is not a number, it is a mindset: clarity over confusion, discipline over impulse, strategy over speculation. It came out of lived experience, moving from a 524 credit score caused by a lack of financial literacy to mastery through education and intentional action. It exists to educate, elevate and empower people to take ownership of their financial future.

Do I need an 800 credit score to be part of it?+

No. The name describes a standard of thinking, not an entry requirement. It is about positioning and legacy rather than perfection, and most people who resonate with it are somewhere in the middle of their own rebuild.

Why does Lynden talk about a 524 score?+

Because it was his, and because it was not caused by poor financial behaviour but by a lack of financial literacy. He was navigating systems nobody had taught him to read. That distinction is the foundation of everything he teaches, and it is why he refuses to treat people as though their score is a character judgment.

Is the merchandise coming back?+

The 800 Club is being rebuilt as its own brand. If you want to know when merchandise returns, get in touch through the contact page and you will hear about it.

Becoming a broker

What does becoming a broker involve?+

It means building your own credit practice using the same system, rather than being a client of one. It suits people who already talk to others about credit and funding, and who want a structure behind those conversations. Details, terms and current availability are covered on a call, because this is a partnership rather than a purchase.

Do I need experience in credit to become a broker?+

Not formal experience, but you do need to be willing to learn the material properly rather than sell something you do not understand. The people who do well at this are the ones who were already helping others informally. If you are only interested in the income, this is not going to work.
